Below are step by step instructions to remove ShopNav from your computer.
Note: This process is difficult and is not recommend unless you are an expert in this field. The manual
process is also dangerous as the removal process requires you to access and edit sensitive files in
the registry of your machine and run the risk of totally destroying your computer.
An important point to remember when removing ShopNav is
to delete all parts of the ShopNav code. This is a must as ShopNav will rebuild itself and will
result in further spreading of the spyware parasite.

ShopNav is a website search engine that can also be downloaded as a web browser toolbar. ShopNav may display advertisements according to your search queries, and the toolbar may also automatically modify your other toolbars and settings of your browser. ShopNav may be offered to you bundled with third party software.

Shopnav Removal Instructions
Open the registry (click 'Start', choose 'Run', and type 'regedit'), and find the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. In the list of values on the right, delete the 'srng' entry.
Next, open a DOS command prompt window (from Start->Programs->Accessories) and enter the following commands, for the IE variant:
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u "\Program Files\Srng\SearchHook.dll"
regsvr32 /u "\Program Files\Srng\IEHelper.dll"
Or for the SN variant:
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u "\Program Files\Srng\SNHelper.dll"
Restart the machine and you should be able to delete the 'Srng' folder inside the Program Files folder. You can also open the registry (Start->Run->regedit) and delete key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Srng, and delete the 'words.lst' file in the Windows folder to clean up if you like.
Finally, restore the normal search settings (Internet Options->Programs->Reset Web Settings).
